Ascendance of a Bookworm is getting a TV adaptation of its Royal Academy arc, with WIT Studio returning to animate it. The October 3 announcement takes Rozemyne beyond the Adopted Daughter story and into a school where books will compete with classes, noble customs and the expectations of other territories.
There is no premiere date yet. The official anime site and publisher TO Books have announced the adaptation, but not a broadcast window or a U.S. streaming service. The academy story is coming; it is not an extra episode that viewers can start watching today.
The new Japanese title is 本好きの下剋上 貴族院の自称図書委員. Royal Academy describes the setting, rather than a newly announced official English subtitle. English novel readers will recognize the material as Part 4 of Miya Kazuki’s series.
A school with more than books to worry about
The setup begins after Rozemyne wakes from a sleep lasting about two years. Much has changed while she was away, and she has little time to settle back in before entering the Royal Academy. The school trains nobles from different territories, so attending means meeting students whose backgrounds and expectations are not necessarily like hers.
Lessons include handling mana and making magical tools. Archduke candidates also study the magic involved in governing their territories. These are skills tied to the responsibilities the students may eventually inherit, not simply interesting subjects to choose for a timetable.
Rozemyne will live in Ehrenfest’s dormitory while studying. That brings the people of her own territory into her school life, alongside teachers and students from elsewhere. A dormitory also means that her relationships with classmates do not stop when a lesson ends.

The academy has a library, and that is what gets her attention. For someone whose ambitions began with finding enough books to read, it is a very tempting reason to attend. The new setting puts that familiar enthusiasm alongside a much larger set of social duties.
Myne and Rozemyne are the same person
If the name change is confusing, Rozemyne is the girl viewers first knew as Myne. In the original story, a book-loving young woman is reborn as a sickly child in a poor family. Books are scarce and expensive, so getting something to read becomes a problem she has to help solve herself.
Part 3 changes her place in that world. She leaves her lower-city family and friends, takes the name Rozemyne and becomes the adopted daughter of Ehrenfest’s archduke. Her new position brings etiquette, magic training and responsibilities that did not belong to her earlier life.

That history helps explain the academy setup. She is not a new heroine replacing Myne, nor is the school story a restart of the series. It follows the same person after adoption and the events that lead to her long sleep.
Familiar characters: earlier Japanese-anime cast
More cast
- Show Hayamias Ferdinand
Yuka Iguchi voices Myne and Show Hayami voices Ferdinand in the earlier Japanese anime. The October 3 sequel announcement does not provide a cast list for the Royal Academy adaptation.
Where the novels pick up
J-Novel Club publishes the English light novels. The relevant starting volume is Ascendance of a Bookworm: Part 4 Founder of the Royal Academy’s So-Called Library Committee Volume 1. That is the book’s English title, not a confirmed English title for the new TV production.
Kazuki writes the novels, with illustrations by You Shiina. Hikaru Katsuki draws the Part 4 manga adaptation. Readers can choose the prose or manga version, but the announcement does not say how many volumes the new anime will cover.

What you can watch now
The existing anime, including the 2026 Adopted Daughter of an Archduke episodes, is listed on Crunchyroll in the United States. Its current episode catalogue includes Japanese and English audio. That availability belongs to the existing series; it is not a streaming announcement for the Royal Academy arc.
The Ascendance of a Bookworm anime page has the series background and current viewing details. If you have only watched the earliest seasons, continue through Adopted Daughter before treating the academy story as your next stop. Rozemyne’s new name and status are consequences of that story, not details to skip over.
For now, the next adaptation and WIT Studio’s involvement are confirmed. Its release schedule, new cast announcement and U.S. viewing plans are still to come.
