Ascendance of a Bookworm adapts Miya Kazuki’s fantasy novels, illustrated by You Shiina. Its heroine begins as Myne, the sickly young daughter of a poor soldier. She remembers a life in which reading was easy, but her new world has few books and buying them is far beyond her means. Learning to make books becomes her way to pursue the life she wants. The early anime follows her family, friendships, trade and work at the temple. Myne’s mana also draws the attention of nobles. The Adopted Daughter of an Archduke story follows her new life as Rozemyne in Ehrenfest, with etiquette, magic training and duties that change how she can spend time with the people she loves. Yuka Iguchi voices Myne and Show Hayami voices Ferdinand in the earlier Japanese anime. Ajia-do produced the earlier adaptations. WIT Studio animates the 2026 Adopted Daughter arc and is confirmed for the newly announced Royal Academy adaptation. The October 3, 2026 announcement concerns Part 4 of the novels and has not yet named the sequel’s cast or premiere schedule. Where to watch in the United States: Crunchyroll currently lists the existing series, including 2026 Adopted Daughter episodes with Japanese and English audio. Its existing episode catalogue carries a 12+ content advisory for suggestive dialogue and violence. This is the platform’s current advisory, not a separately announced rating for the Royal Academy arc. The Royal Academy adaptation has no confirmed U.S. streaming service or premiere date as of October 3, 2026. English readers can continue the source story through J-Novel Club’s Part 4 novels; their English book subtitle is not a confirmed English anime subtitle.
