Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 received Hotfix #3 on September 29, 2026. The most important fix is for a replication bug that could make weapons deal no damage. Cold Iron Studios also fixed incorrect starting ammo from attachments and perks, plus a crash that could happen when a Companion Bot tried to revive a player. The studio’s notes cover PC, PS5 and Xbox.

Those are the kinds of problems a co-op shooter can’t shrug off. A fireteam can plan its loadouts and still lose a run if shots stop counting. The new patch addresses that specific bug, although the notes do not say every connection or performance problem is solved. Players should update the game before judging whether a fresh session behaves differently.

What did Hotfix #3 fix?

Weapon damage, starting ammo and bot revives are the three listed fixes. The damage problem was a replication issue, which matters when the game has to keep a squad’s actions in sync. The ammo issue could make attachment and perk bonuses start a mission with the wrong count. And the bot crash was tied to a revive attempt, a particularly rough way to lose progress when playing without a full human squad.

The official patch notes are short. They do not announce a new mission, enemy or weapon, and they do not give a percentage improvement for stability. This is a targeted hotfix, not the larger update that Cold Iron says is planned for late October. Its practical value will be clearest to players who ran into one of these three problems.

What problems remain?

The EVI-87 Zvezda Plasma Rifle can again overheat without firing if its trigger is activated rapidly. Cold Iron says this known bug returned during a partial rollback. The studio also says the Jackpot perk can get into a bad state with heat weapons, so Jackpot temporarily has no effect on those weapons. It is testing a longer-term change for a future update.

That distinction matters if you use a heat-weapon build: the patch fixes one set of frustrating problems while leaving a different, named weapon issue in play. There is no published date for the permanent Jackpot change. The studio says its next major update is planned for late October, with more details to follow. Horde Mode is mentioned as part of work beyond October, not as part of this hotfix.

What platforms are included?

The September 29 notes specifically list PC, PS5 and Xbox. The game launched on those platforms on August 25. An older publisher launch notice still gives September 29 as a Nintendo Switch 2 date, but parent company Enad Global 7 later said that version is now scheduled for early 2027. Switch 2 players should not treat this hotfix as a sign that their version has arrived.

For players joining now, Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is a four-person third-person co-op shooter from Cold Iron Studios. Steam lists the PC game as released, and the U.S. ESRB rates the PC, PS5 and Xbox versions M for Mature 17+. The official co-op showcase shows the squad-based combat, but it predates Hotfix #3 and should not be mistaken for a demonstration of the fixes.
