Alien Deathstorm is scheduled for Spring 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Rebellion has not announced an exact date or price. The Xbox and PC release will join Game Pass on day one, while the new Gamescom trailer focuses on the mid-game Reactor mission, adaptive aliens, weapon upgrades, and the planet-wide mega-storm.

Does Alien Deathstorm have an exact release date?

No. Spring 2027 is the most precise launch timing Rebellion has given. Xbox Wire announced that window with the Gamescom trailer, but the Xbox, Steam, and PlayStation storefronts still do not show a calendar date. A listing that says “to be announced” or “release date to be determined” is therefore not evidence of a delay; the stores simply have not been updated with anything more specific.

There is also no confirmed price, standard-versus-deluxe edition breakdown, early-access period, or paid pre-order bonus. The available action is a wishlist rather than a purchase. Any retailer page offering a precise day or price before Rebellion announces one should be treated as a placeholder.

What the new Gamescom trailer actually shows

The footage comes from the Reactor mission, which Rebellion describes as a mid-game assignment. The player enters a malfunctioning fission reactor, diagnoses several failures, and travels through an underground substation and an exposed flare stack to bring the facility back online. That makes the trailer more useful than a cinematic teaser: it shows a real mission context, combat spaces, repair work, and the pressure created by moving between shelter and open ground.

The playable character is an Engineer sent to investigate an off-world mining colony after it loses contact with Earth. This is a rescue mission that collapses into survival, not a power fantasy about a heavily armored super-soldier. Rebellion says the Engineer has basic combat training and must combine practical tools, firearms, observation, and repairs to stay alive.

How the Deathstorm changes the mission

The storm is a planet-wide seasonal atmospheric event that struck without warning. Outdoors, hurricane-force winds, debris, collapsing structures, and exposed routes make the environment itself dangerous. Indoors, the weather may be less immediate, but confined spaces give the aliens better opportunities to stalk from darkness. The game is designed around moving between those two forms of pressure rather than treating the red storm as scenery.

Objectives are delivered through the Engineer’s digital assistant, Squire. Instead of presenting every answer as a fixed instruction, the Reactor mission asks the player to read the situation, diagnose faults, and decide how to approach the repairs. Rebellion has not described Alien Deathstorm as a fully open-world game, so this should be understood as flexible problem solving inside its missions, not proof of an unrestricted sandbox.

Aliens, weapons, upgrades, and survival tools

Rebellion has revealed four enemy groups: Soldiers, Scuttlers, Blister Scuttlers, and Scuttler Swarms. The studio says they can hunt in packs, use the environment, and adapt their attacks to the scenario and the player’s behavior. More alien types are planned for later reveals, so the Gamescom roster is only an early sample rather than the complete bestiary.

  • Firearms shown: a pistol, submachine gun, and shotgun.
  • Weapon upgrades: blueprints for optics, stocks, barrels, and magazines that can be 3D printed.
  • Engineer’s hammer: used for repairs and as an emergency melee weapon, especially against flying Scuttlers.
  • Other tools: a Geiger Scanner for nearby threats, grenades, flares, and health injectors.

Those systems point to an action-horror balance rather than pure stealth or nonstop arena shooting. The Engineer can fight back, upgrade weapons, and clear space, but the mission still asks the player to manage visibility, terrain, repairs, and an enemy population that can attack from several directions.

What Game Pass and Xbox Play Anywhere mean here

Xbox says Alien Deathstorm will be available through Game Pass on its first day of release. The Xbox Store also lists Xbox Play Anywhere, which covers the Xbox Series and Windows PC versions sold through Microsoft’s ecosystem, along with Xbox cloud saves. Steam and PlayStation remain separate storefronts; the day-one Game Pass announcement does not make those versions free.

The official pages list a single-player game. Xbox and Steam mention cloud saves, while the PlayStation listing identifies one-player support, DualSense vibration and trigger effects, and PS5 Pro enhancements. Rebellion has not announced cross-save between Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox accounts, and no PlayStation Plus release has been confirmed.

Is Alien Deathstorm connected to the Alien movies?

The official Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, and Rebellion materials present Alien Deathstorm as a Rebellion property and do not identify it as part of 20th Century’s Alien film franchise. Steam’s copyright notice specifically lists Alien Deathstorm and ADS as Rebellion trademarks. The similar title, off-world colony, and creatures may invite the comparison, but the announced game is its own setting and brand.

That distinction also prevents a common search mistake: this is not Alien: Isolation 2, Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, or an adaptation of a film. It is Rebellion’s new first-person action-horror project, built around a Combat Engineer, a mining colony, and the Deathstorm itself.

What Rebellion still has not announced

  • Exact release date: only Spring 2027 is confirmed.
  • Price and editions: no purchase price, deluxe edition, or pre-order bonus is listed.
  • Campaign length: Rebellion has not provided an hour estimate.
  • PC specifications: Steam currently lists the minimum operating system and hardware as TBC.
  • Full alien roster: four types have been shown, with more promised for later.
  • Multiplayer: no co-op or competitive mode is announced; current stores describe single-player.

The Alien Deathstorm game page keeps the official trailer, platforms, release status, and future Pixel Twelve coverage together as Rebellion reveals the exact date and more missions.
