The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered revisits Bethesda's 2006 open-world RPG in a form designed for current hardware. The story still follows a player-created hero across Cyrodiil as Daedric forces threaten Tamriel, with freedom to pursue the main quest, guilds, side stories, exploration, combat, and character development in almost any order. Bethesda Game Studios worked with Virtuos on the update. The original game's core and world logic remain underneath the remaster, while Unreal Engine 5 powers rebuilt visuals, lighting, landscapes, character models, and animation. Modern touches include sprinting, revised first- and third-person cameras, interface changes, improved combat feedback, accessibility options, and adjusted progression systems. The package includes the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine expansions plus the original downloadable content. It launched April 22, 2025 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, then reached Nintendo Switch 2 on August 11, 2026. This is a remaster of Oblivion, not Skyrim, The Elder Scrolls Online, or a new numbered sequel.
