The first thing to watch is your health at the upper left; a run ends if you lose it. The number beside a red gem at the upper right is money for the shops you can find on the way. A weapon name may appear along the top when you have a particular Gunboots module. Shops offer useful items, while between-level upgrades can change how the next stretch feels. The screenshots below show both a narrow fall between enemies and a shop with a visible price and healing effect. It is worth learning where those parts of the screen are before worrying about long combos or perfect scores.

Moppin made Downwell and Devolver Digital published it on October 15, 2015. The date records the original release; the game later reached additional platforms, including consoles and mobile stores listed by the publisher. The well is generated differently between attempts, so memorising a single fixed route is not the point. Each run is a chance to get more comfortable with steering, using a short burst of Gunboots fire and deciding whether a gem or shop stop is worth the risk to your health.
