Control follows Jesse Faden as she enters the Federal Bureau of Control, a secret government agency housed inside a New York building called the Oldest House. She is looking for her brother Dylan, but the Bureau is already in crisis: a hostile force called the Hiss has taken over many rooms and people. Jesse becomes the new Director and has to reach deeper parts of the building to learn what happened. You can follow the main mission while also reading Bureau files and finding side cases that explain its stranger objects and experiments.

The game is played from behind Jesse. You fight with a shape-changing Service Weapon and abilities that let her pull objects through the air, shield herself or move in new ways. Launch, the power that throws nearby objects, is useful when enemies hide behind cover. Control Points are the marked safe places where you can save progress, travel and upgrade abilities; pay attention to signs in the Oldest House so you can find your way between them. New powers and security access open areas you could not enter on your first visit, so a locked door is often a reason to return later, not proof that you missed a secret switch.

Remedy Entertainment developed Control and 505 Games published its original PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC launch on August 27, 2019. Control Ultimate Edition, its 2020 expansion bundle and later PS5/Xbox Series versions should not be confused with the original launch. This page is for the main game first released in 2019. The cover is official Control key art with its native title, and the gallery uses official publisher-supplied game images rather than generic office photos.
