Exploration and combat are parts of the same problem-solving system. Players can talk, sneak, climb, jump, shove, split the party, use the environment, or enter turn-based battles built around position, initiative, spells, and coordinated actions. Solo players control the full party, while online multiplayer supports up to four people. Patch 8 is the final major update and adds cross-play, Photo Mode, and 12 new subclasses, so current guides should be read against that version rather than the 2023 launch state alone.
