Queen Latifah and Riley Green are first-time coaches on The Voice season 30, joining returning coaches Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine. The new season began with a three-night premiere on NBC starting September 21.
Who are the season 30 coaches?
Queen Latifah and country singer Riley Green are the two newcomers to the coaching panel. Clarkson and Levine have both coached on earlier seasons. The four appear together in the season 30 promotional image.
What changed in the competition?
A new one-use First In Button can let the first coach to turn during a multi-chair blind audition claim an artist before that artist makes a final choice. NBC also added Cut Week: each coach sends two artists directly to the live shows, while five more compete for one remaining team place.
After the top 12 is chosen, viewers vote one more artist into the live rounds, making a top 13. NBC says the live portion will run for six weeks, with both NBC and Peacock carrying those shows in all US time zones. Viewers will be able to vote by SMS or TikTok during that phase.
When can viewers watch?
NBC scheduled premiere episodes for September 21, 22 and 23 at 8 p.m. Eastern. Episodes become available on Peacock the following day. The season 30 coaches also appeared in a September 17 anniversary special with former coaches.
