Daredevil: Born Again is expected to end with Season 3. A new report says the 2027 season will be the last chapter of the Disney+ series, bringing Matt Murdock’s latest solo run to a planned finish.
Marvel has not issued its own public statement calling Season 3 the final season. For now, the ending should be treated as a report rather than a new Marvel announcement. The season has already completed filming and is in post-production.
Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are back
Charlie Cox returns as Matt Murdock and Daredevil, while Vincent D’Onofrio returns as Wilson Fisk. Their fight has driven Born Again from the beginning, moving between courtrooms, New York politics and the violence surrounding Hell’s Kitchen.
Season 2 pushed that conflict into the open. Mayor Fisk used his power to hunt Daredevil as a public enemy, while Matt tried to weaken Fisk’s control of the city. Season 3 is expected to continue from those events instead of starting a separate story.
The reported ending does not automatically mean Cox is finished as Daredevil. Marvel characters often move between films and series, and the report is specifically about Born Again. Marvel has not announced what comes next for Matt after the third season.
The Defenders are part of the final chapter
Season 3 is also bringing more of the Defenders back into the same story. Krysten Ritter returns as Jessica Jones. Mike Colter is expected as Luke Cage, and Finn Jones is expected as Danny Rand and Iron Fist.
That reunion gives the final season a larger group around Matt without changing the main focus. Daredevil and Fisk remain the central rivals, but the return of Jessica, Luke and Danny connects Born Again more directly to the earlier Marvel shows.
Marvel has not released a full Season 3 cast list or an official episode guide. It has also not announced a specific premiere date beyond the reported 2027 plan. Any exact month should be treated as unconfirmed until Disney+ publishes it.
Dario Scardapane is leaving
The same report says showrunner Dario Scardapane’s contract was not renewed. He is leaving while the third season is still in post-production. Scardapane helped guide Born Again after Marvel changed the original creative direction of the series.
His departure makes Season 3 feel like a clear closing point for this version of the show. It also means there is no announced creative team preparing a fourth season.
What remains official
Disney’s own materials confirm the core of the series: Cox as Matt Murdock, D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk and Ritter as Jessica Jones. They also describe Born Again as a street-level Marvel drama built around survival, resistance and the fight for New York.
What is new is the report that Season 3 will be the end. Marvel and Disney+ may add more details as the 2027 release gets closer, including the date, episode count and final cast list.
