The Batmobile is back in Glasgow. Fan photos posted on Reddit on Aug. 17 appear to show The Batman Part II’s black muscle-car version outside a studio and on a nearby set. They are not official Warner Bros. images, so they confirm a sighting rather than a new studio reveal. The posts do line up with local reports that Matt Reeves’ sequel is filming across Glasgow city centre. One fan post shows the car outside a studio, while a second post shares another set look from the same day.

That is enough to make this a real production update, but not enough to build a plot around. We can place the car in Glasgow and connect it to the active shoot. We cannot tell which scene it belongs to, who is driving it, or whether the finished movie will use the exact version seen in the photos.

Glasgow Is Hosting a Real City Shoot

The photos arrived as Glasgow was preparing for a substantial filming period. The Standard reported that production would use several parts of the city in August, including the Newton Street and North Street area. The paper also notes that Glasgow has doubled for Gotham before, including in The Batman (2022).

Glasgow Express’ local report gives a better sense of the footprint. Restrictions run from August into September and affect more than 20 streets, including routes around Bothwell Street, North Street, Newton Street, Broomielaw, and Glasgow Bridge. During some filming periods, pedestrians and vehicles will be held back while the crew works.

The Glasgow Chamber of Commerce notice lists the actual closures and says pedestrian movement can be stopped during “action,” rehearsals, and stunt work. It also includes restrictions near the Kingston Bridge off-ramp and the Newton Street car park, giving the fan sightings a clear production timeline.

A BBC Scotland report carried by AOL also points to work around Kingston Bridge, North Street, and Newton Street. Meanwhile, that murals were covered during filming and will be restored afterward. Together, those reports show a production using Glasgow as a working Gotham location, not a brief pickup shoot that happened to include a parked car.
