Moon Studios has moved No Rest for the Wicked’s full 1.0 launch from October 2026 to March 2027. The action RPG will release on PC through Steam and PlayStation 5 in that month, while the Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 versions still do not have dates.

The game is already playable in Steam Early Access, but 1.0 is meant to be the finished version rather than another content update. Moon says the extra time will go toward performance, the class system, and final polish. An open beta is planned for December, with more closed tests before then.

Why was No Rest for the Wicked delayed?

Moon Studios says it is a small team and that being close to launch is not enough for the 1.0 build. The studio specifically named gameplay performance, the class system, and overall polish as the areas that need more work. That is a narrower explanation than a vague “quality” delay: the team has identified systems it wants to improve before calling the game finished.

The delay also gives players more chances to see that work before launch. Moon plans additional closed beta tests in the coming months and an open beta in December. The studio has not announced the beta’s dates, platforms, signup process, or whether progress will carry into 1.0.

When will No Rest for the Wicked release?

No Rest for the Wicked is scheduled to leave Early Access in March 2027 on PC and PS5. Moon has announced a month, not a specific day. Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 versions are still listed without release dates, so the March window should not be treated as a confirmed launch date for those platforms.

The PC version is available now through Steam Early Access. PlayStation 5 pre-orders are planned for January 2027. Moon’s current announcement does not say whether the Xbox or Switch 2 editions will arrive alongside the PC and PS5 launch or later.

What is planned for the 1.0 version?

Moon’s June 1.0 announcement described a much larger game than the current Early Access build. The studio listed more than 60 hours of new content within an experience that could reach around 100 hours, along with new regions, bosses, enemies, weapons, a horde mode, and a redesigned class and progression system.

The 1.0 plan also includes the final story arc, persistent multiplayer realms, and cross-play and cross-save between PC and console at launch. Those features come from the earlier official plan; the new delay announcement does not remove them, but the studio can still change details while development continues.

What happens to the Founders Pack?

The delay changes the Founders Pack deadline for PC players. Anyone who buys No Rest for the Wicked before January 1, 2027 will receive the pack, and Moon says purchases made after the old July 10 cutoff will be included retroactively. PlayStation players can qualify by pre-ordering when PS5 pre-orders open in January.

The pack includes the Spirit Cavern hideout, the Sayer’s Vow sword, a Founders Tag, and access to a public beta realm reserved for founders after launch. These are early-supporter rewards, not extra story chapters or a separate edition of the game.

Is the delay bad news for players?

It is bad news for anyone who planned to play the finished version this fall, but the announcement is not a cancellation or a platform reduction for PC and PS5. The useful part is the December open beta: players may get a clearer look at the class changes and performance before March, rather than waiting in silence.

The risk is that March is still only a month window. Until Moon gives the exact day and explains how the open beta will work, players should treat the current schedule as a target. The game has more time, a public test ahead, and a longer wait for the full version.

No Rest for the Wicked is now a March 2027 game on PC and PS5, with Xbox and Switch 2 dates still open. The December beta gives Moon Studios a chance to prove that the extra months are being used on the parts players will feel every time they fight, build a character, or return to Isola Sacra.
