Ted Lasso

Ted Lasso begins when an American football coach is hired to manage AFC Richmond, an English soccer club, despite knowing little about the sport. Ted’s patience and stubborn optimism gradually affect the players, staff, and ownership around him, even as wins remain difficult and personal problems follow everyone off the pitch. Jason Sudeikis stars as Ted, with Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift among the central cast. The comedy uses Richmond’s seasons to tell stories about trust, anxiety, ambition, friendship, and changing definitions of success. Its fourth season premiered on August 5, 2026, returning Ted to Richmond to coach a second-division women’s football team while continuing the wider club story.
