The game opens on the Great Plateau, then expands into a large Hyrule that can be approached in many orders. Link climbs towers to map regions, visits villages and stables, crosses plains, forests, deserts, mountains, and waterways, and chooses which objectives to follow. More than 100 Shrines of Trials provide puzzle rooms, combat tests, travel points, and Spirit Orbs used to increase health or stamina. Four Divine Beasts and the final castle provide larger objectives, but exploration and preparation remain flexible.
