A holiday on Isle Delfino goes wrong when Mario is blamed for the pollution covering the island. Clearing his name means recovering Shine Sprites and cleaning the tropical resort with F.L.U.D.D., a water-powered device worn on his back. Its nozzles can wash away grime, propel Mario through the air, help him cross hazards, and open routes that ordinary jumps cannot reach. Super Mario Sunshine mixes that movement with open stages, secret platforming courses, Yoshi sections, and collectibles spread across beaches, villages, a harbor, and an amusement park. Nintendo developed and published the original GameCube release in 2002. The same game joined the Nintendo Classics GameCube library for Nintendo Switch 2 on August 13, 2026; it is not a remake or a separate sequel.
