Path of Exile 2 is Grinding Gear Games' standalone action RPG sequel, returning to Wraeclast after a 20-year period without corruption. Its Early Access build launched on December 6, 2024 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Grinding Gear Games has since announced Version 1.0 for December 11, 2026, when the full game becomes free to play; until then, new players enter Early Access through an eligible supporter pack.

Character building links weapons and equipment with active Skill Gems, Support Gems, passive choices, and class specializations. A skill can be modified by as many as five Support Gems, allowing the same ability to behave differently across builds. The campaign emphasizes deliberate movement and readable boss patterns, while the endgame branches into separate storylines, pinnacle bosses, crafting systems, and an Atlas passive tree. That structure gives players both a guided starting path and long-term room to refine a character.
The three related stories on this hub serve different needs. The beginner's guide explains skills, supports, the passive tree, and early boss habits without assuming Path of Exile experience. The NVIDIA troubleshooting article addresses the specific crash and long-pause problem on PC. The Version 1.0 story tracks the December 11 full release and free-to-play change. Path of Exile 2 shares Wraeclast and an account ecosystem with the original game, but its campaign, classes, progression, and endgame are built as a separate sequel.
