007 First Light is a single-player action-adventure developed and published by IO Interactive in association with Amazon MGM Studios. It follows a 26-year-old James Bond before he becomes an established secret agent. An emergency during his Royal Navy service leads to recruitment by MI6, where veteran John Greenway trains him. A mission to stop a rogue agent draws them into a larger conspiracy.

You walk through guarded locations, listen to conversations and look for ways to reach a restricted area. A pass, a disguise or a convincing excuse can help you get past security. Q supplies mission devices, and Bond’s watch lets him inspect and interfere with usable electronic objects. The aim is to choose a route and deal with the people watching it, not simply shoot everyone at the entrance.

When a fight starts, you avoid incoming attacks, use nearby objects and move between cover. You can interrupt enemies with a thrown object or weapon; firearms become available when lethal threats justify them. The campaign also includes directed vehicle chases. After training, Tactical Simulation offers shorter replayable challenges, with online score comparisons rather than multiplayer matches.

The game launched May 27, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The main campaign supports offline play after the required initial download; rankings and online challenges need a connection. The free October 1 Extended Operations update adds replay options, a harder difficulty and Photo Mode. Nintendo Switch 2 is planned for March 2027, with the exact day unannounced.

Great

Talking past guards and fighting with whatever is nearby make this young Bond fun to play. The missions are less open than they first appear.
