Creating a household is only the beginning in The Sims. Players decide how their Sims look, dress, behave, and relate to one another, then build homes and guide the lives that unfold inside them. Careers, skills, friendships, romances, ambitions, and unexpected disasters can all become part of a player-made story. Building tools add another layer, letting players plan rooms, choose furnishings, reshape lots, and share creations with the wider community. The franchise has moved through several numbered games and spin-offs, while The Sims 4 remains its current flagship entry. Across those releases, the central appeal stays open-ended: players create the people and circumstances, but personalities, emotions, relationships, and chance keep the results from feeling completely scripted.
In The Sims 4, the Gallery lets players share households, rooms, and lots. It can provide a furnished home or a new household without making everything from scratch. The Marketplace serves a different purpose: it sells downloadable content, including Expansion Packs, Game Packs, Stuff Packs, Kits, and Maker Packs. The Marketplace has not replaced the Gallery.
Maker Packs contain community-created Build/Buy or Create a Sim items reviewed by The Sims team. They are different from a house or household shared through the Gallery. Before looking for missing content, check whether it is a Gallery creation or a Marketplace purchase: purchased items can be checked in My Collection, while shared creations belong in the Gallery workflow.
