The Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End collaboration is running now at Universal Studios Japan through January 11, 2027. It includes a 20-minute Story Walk at Stage 18, a Frieren audio story on Hollywood Dream - The Ride, and Restaurant of Memories at Lost World Restaurant. A regular Studio Pass gets you into the park, while the Story Walk normally needs a Timed Entry eTicket from the official USJ app.
The important distinction is that this is not one attraction with one queue. The walk, coaster overlay, restaurant and merchandise are in separate locations, and the timed-entry requirement applies specifically to the Story Walk. Planning the app step first makes the rest of the visit much easier.

Frieren at USJ: quick planning facts
- Event dates: May 30, 2026 through January 11, 2027. USJ says the period can change.
- Park admission: a valid Studio Pass or Annual Pass is required to enter Universal Studios Japan.
- Story Walk: Stage 18, from 10 a.m. until park close, approximately 20 minutes, with no age requirement listed.
- Timed entry: normally required for Story Walk and issued only through the latest official app; walk-in access may be allowed on quieter days.
- Story Ride: Hollywood Dream - The Ride, Track 3. The Frieren story is not available on Backdrop.
- Food and goods: Lost World Restaurant for the themed menu and Universal Studios Store for event merchandise.
Do you need a separate Frieren ticket?
USJ’s event page directs visitors to its standard Studio Pass rather than listing a separate paid Frieren admission ticket. You still need valid park admission for the date of your visit. Prices and ticket availability vary by day, so use the official USJ ticket store rather than treating a screenshot or an old travel listing as current.
A Studio Pass does not remove the Story Walk capacity control. When timed entry is in use, every person in your party needs a registered admission pass and an assigned attraction time. USJ can stop distribution when capacity is reached, and even a valid eTicket remains subject to the attraction’s operating conditions.
What happens in Story Walk — Echoes of Adventure?
Story Walk is an indoor walkthrough built around the magical city of Äußerst. Projection mapping, lighting and sound move visitors through memories involving Frieren, Fern, Stark and the original hero party. USJ lists the experience at about 20 minutes and gives it no age requirement, making it the most broadly accessible part of the collaboration.
The venue is Stage 18 in the Hollywood area. Event hours begin at 10 a.m. and run until the park closes, but USJ warns that operating times can change. Check the attraction status in the app on the morning of your visit instead of assuming the park’s opening time is also the Story Walk start time.
How to get a Story Walk Timed Entry eTicket
- Install or update the official USJ app: the latest version is required for attraction Timed Entry eTickets.
- Register every admission pass: scan or upload the QR code for each Studio Pass or Annual Pass in your party. USJ says this can be done before park entry.
- Request the attraction time after entering: open the timed-entry section inside the park, select the attraction, party size and available time, then keep the issued QR code ready.
Issued times and party size cannot be changed. Do not uninstall the app before using the ticket, because USJ says that invalidates it. If the park is quiet enough, crew members may allow Story Walk access without timed entry; treat that as a day-of operational exception, not a booking strategy.
How the Frieren Story Ride works
Carriage Beneath the Bird Monster is a park-exclusive audio story layered onto Hollywood Dream - The Ride. The setup places riders in a carriage with Frieren, Fern and Stark before a bird monster pulls the group into the air. Character dialogue plays alongside the coaster’s movement, turning the existing ride into a short narrative rather than simply adding a themed song.
Choose Track 3 on the forward-facing Hollywood Dream ride. USJ explicitly says the Frieren experience is not available on Hollywood Dream - The Ride: Backdrop. The attraction’s normal safety and ride requirements still apply, so check the current attraction page if anyone in your party has accessibility or height concerns.
What is at Restaurant of Memories?
Lost World Restaurant becomes Restaurant of Memories for the collaboration. The main plates are built around the party: Frieren’s Plate pairs braised beef with flower-field details, Himmel’s Plate centers on an omelet, and the Eisen and Heiter plate combines Hamburg steak with fish and chips. A treasure-chest-style kids meal is listed for children age six and under.
The dessert and drink lineup includes Frieren’s pale-blue floral soda with a take-home coaster, Fern’s cherry-and-blueberry parfait with a themed spoon, and Stark’s chocolate-raspberry cake. USJ says menu designs, sales methods and availability can change, so decide which item matters most before joining a long meal line and keep a backup choice in mind.

Where to find Frieren merchandise
The event page sends shoppers to Universal Studios Store. The examples include a Frieren hairband inspired by the field-of-flowers spell, a Blue Moon Weed hairband and a Himmel plush keychain. Merchandise is available only while supplies last, purchase limits may apply and the sales period may not match the attraction period exactly.
A practical order for your Frieren visit
- Secure Story Walk first: enter the park, open the official app and check timed-entry distribution before spending time elsewhere.
- Use the assigned gap: if your walk time is later, check the Hollywood Dream wait and ride Track 3 when it fits without risking the eTicket window.
- Plan the restaurant outside the busiest meal period: the themed food is a separate stop and availability can change through the day.
- Leave merchandise flexible: shop when the store location fits your route, but do not assume a limited item will remain until closing.
What to check on the day of your visit
Before leaving for the park, confirm the day’s operating hours, temporary closures and app version. Once inside, check Story Walk timed-entry distribution and the current Hollywood Dream status. Weather can affect outdoor rides even when the indoor walkthrough remains available.
This guide reflects USJ’s official information as of August 30, 2026. The event is scheduled through January 11, 2027, but hours, food, merchandise and access procedures can change without notice. The official app and crew at each attraction are the final authority for that day.
For the series itself, Pixel Twelve’s Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End hub tracks the anime’s status and related coverage. The separate Frieren Film Concert world tour guide covers the live orchestral event rather than the USJ collaboration.
