Wonder Man

Wonder Man is a Marvel Television series about Simon Williams, an ambitious Hollywood actor searching for his breakthrough. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II plays Simon, who crosses paths with Trevor Slattery, the veteran performer played by Sir Ben Kingsley. Their meeting brings both actors into director Von Kovak’s planned remake of the superhero film Wonder Man. Simon wants to be taken seriously while keeping his own superpowers hidden. Co-creators Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest use the audition story to look behind the scenes of the entertainment industry, making Simon and Trevor’s friendship and very different careers as important as the superhero premise. Zlatko Burić plays Von Kovak, with X Mayo and Arian Moayed among the principal cast. All eight episodes of Season 1 premiered on Disney+ on January 27, 2026. The series is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but its film-industry setting distinguishes it from a conventional origin story. Disney+ canceled the series after one season, reversing its earlier Season 2 renewal, according to July 30 reports from Variety and TheWrap. One season and eight episodes were released.
