The Early Spring

The Early Spring follows Flora Shang, also named Shang Zhitao, as she tries to establish herself in Beijing’s demanding workplace. Her growing connection with creative director Luke Luan, or Luan Nian, develops into a secret romance. Their jobs and the unequal positions they hold make the relationship harder to separate from their professional lives. Jing Boran and Sun Qian lead the Mandarin-language drama, directed by Chiang Chi-cheng and written and produced by Gao Xiao-xian. It adapts Gu Niang Bie Ku’s web novel 早春晴朗. The story follows the pair over a decade, with career setbacks, separation and changing priorities shaping their decisions. The series premiered August 26, 2026. Youku’s Chinese listing shows the complete 24-episode run, and Netflix’s UK title page lists 24 episodes with English subtitles. Streaming rights and language options depend on the market. Netflix’s September2 announcement mentioned only the first13 then available; that launch-period snapshot is not the final episode count.
