Did Someone Happen to Mention Me? is a Japanese comedy series starring Koji Yakusho as Gen Takasegawa. Gen used to be one of Japan’s best-known actors. When he comes back to the country, he finds that almost no one remembers him — not even his family. He thinks something must be wrong with everyone else. The truth leaves him trying to start his career again with small acting jobs. The series follows Gen as he visits auditions and film sets, looking for a way back into show business. Kento Kaku plays Tetsu Okamoto, a playwright who works part-time at a sauna and runs a theater troupe. Kenichi Matsuyama plays assistant director Kazuki Kawashima. Yoh Yoshida plays Gen’s ex-wife Yoko, who runs his former talent agency, and Yumi Kawai plays their daughter Emma. Hayato Isomura and Masatoshi Hamada are also in the cast. Kankuro Kudo wrote the series. Fuminori Kaneko, Takuya Sakaue and Atsushi Watanabe direct. Netflix released the official poster and main trailer on September 24, 2026.
