Overview
Breaking Bad follows Walter White, a New Mexico chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with cancer and begins cooking methamphetamine with former student Jesse Pinkman. What starts as an attempt to protect his family’s finances turns into a violent criminal operation that changes Walter, Jesse, Skyler White, Hank Schrader, and everyone around them. Vince Gilligan created the series for AMC. Bryan Cranston plays Walter, Aaron Paul plays Jesse, Anna Gunn plays Skyler, Dean Norris plays Hank, and Giancarlo Esposito plays drug kingpin Gus Fring. The series ran for five seasons from 2008 to 2013, and its story later expanded through the film El Camino and the prequel series Better Call Saul. Sony Pictures Television’s official page remains the reference point for the completed series. The September 2026 Alamo Drafthouse event screens “Face Off,” the Season 4 finale, rather than adding a new episode or a new season.
