The Storm

The Storm is a Swedish dark comedy written and directed by Josephine Bornebusch, who also stars. Filip invites his closest friends to a newly purchased farmhouse in northern Sweden for his 45th birthday. A violent storm traps them together, and the comfortable party turns into a night of exposed secrets, panic and unexpected feelings. The film uses the closed-in dinner setting to put the relationships among the guests under pressure.

The ensemble cast includes Gustaf Skarsgård, Aliette Opheim, Filip Berg, Jonas Karlsson, Johan Rheborg, Christopher Wagelin, Sara Shirpey, Gizem Erdogan, Henrik Dorsin, Nils Wetterholm and Nicole Levin. Sofie Palage produces for Warner Bros. International Television Production Sweden. Netflix has released an official trailer and first-look photographs, but its announcement does not assign every character to a cast member.

The Storm opens in selected Swedish theaters on October 2, 2026, and premieres globally on Netflix on October 15. The earlier theater date applies to Sweden, not a worldwide cinema release. A running time has not been specified in the official trailer announcement.
