Overview
The Invite is a 2026 comedy-drama directed by Olivia Wilde. Wilde and Seth Rogen play Angela and Joe, a married couple in San Francisco who invite their upstairs neighbors to dinner. Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton play the guests, Piña and Hawk.
Rashida Jones and Will McCormack wrote the screenplay, adapted from Cesc Gay’s The People Upstairs. The film runs 107 minutes and is rated R in the United States for adult material, including sexual discussion, strong language and drug use.
A24 opened the film in select US theaters on June 26, 2026, followed by a nationwide release on July 10. It is available to rent or buy digitally in the US; options vary by country.
