Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma Review
Pixel Twelve score
Great
Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson make an unusual romance worth following, even when Jane Schoenbrun's horror comedy explains more than it needs to.

Overview
Kris, a young filmmaker, is hired to restart a fictional horror series about a killer at a summer camp. She visits Billy Presley, the actress who played the original movie’s surviving heroine. Billy has left acting and lives at the old camp location. Their meeting develops into an unusual romance. Hannah Einbinder plays Kris and Gillian Anderson plays Billy. Jane Schoenbrun wrote and directed the film, with music by Alex G.
Produced by Plan B Entertainment and MUBI, the English-language US/Canadian film runs 112 minutes. Its US theatrical release began August 7, 2026. US streaming on MUBI is scheduled for October 2, 2026 and is not yet available at this page’s October 1 UTC publication. Availability outside the US may differ. The US classification is R. The earlier Camp Miasma movies exist only inside this story, not as a real franchise.
