Overview
Pokémon: Wild Card is a feature-length animated adventure built around the Pokémon Trading Card Game. The story follows an aspiring TCG player and Mimikyu, the Disguise Pokémon, placing card competition at the center of a Pokémon movie rather than treating it as a side activity. The Pokémon Company International revealed the film during the closing events of PokémonXP and the 2026 Pokémon World Championships. Its release is scheduled to begin in 2027. An exact date, voice cast, territory-by-territory theatrical schedule and home or streaming release have not been announced. Katsuhiko Kitada directs, Akemi Hayashi handles character design, CloverWorks produces the animation and STORY inc. plans and produces the project.
