Overview
Marrow is a psychological horror film directed by Mitch McLeod. It follows Jamie Foster, a true-crime host whose audience has fallen. Hoping to rescue her show, she invites an anonymous stranger into a conversation about missing internet personalities. The encounter exposes her to a danger she cannot keep at the other end of a call.
Jessica Dawn Willis stars as Jamie. Danielle Harris plays Camilla Moore, who is both Jamie’s aunt and her boss. Michael Ironside plays Dr. Jonathan Myers, a psychiatrist with a past connection to Jamie’s stalker. Camilla’s pressure over the show’s performance and Myers’ experience with the stalker give Jamie different reasons to turn to them.
McLeod wrote the screenplay with Willis and Preston Fassel. The producers are McLeod, Willis, Matthew Tompkins and Jon Keeyes. Evan Burns is the cinematographer, Nicholas Andrew Sadler composed the score and Marc Rouse edited the film. CC Films and Absentia Pictures present the production in association with Highland Myst Entertainment and Alpha Channel Films.
The film runs 96 minutes according to the Popcorn Frights program. It has had festival screenings, but those screenings are separate from the planned commercial release. S&R Films has acquired worldwide distribution rights and released its official trailer. A theatrical or digital release date has not yet been announced. No U.S. streaming service or age classification is confirmed.
The trailer introduces Jamie’s recording setup before moving into wooded locations, a remote house and disturbing images on a screen. The story concerns obsession, manipulation and Jamie’s attempt to regain an audience, with the stranger’s identity kept uncertain in the preview.
