Where to watch
Give Me Some Sugah follows Lenore Lindsey, a Chicago baker played by Taraji P. Henson. She opens the bakery she has wanted for years. Netflix says a chance meeting brings her a reward, but has not said what it is. The film is inspired by the real Lenore Lindsey, whose story drew attention online in 2024.
Tasha Smith directs from a script by Randy Brown. Joey Bada$$ also stars. Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor plays Angie, Russell Hornsby plays Robert and Alexis Louder plays Megan. The cast also includes Semaj Prather, Arischa Conner, Angela Davis, Caroline Avery Granger, Smith and DeVon Franklin. Franklin and Tyler Perry produced the film as the second project in their Netflix partnership.
Netflix has announced a December 16, 2026 premiere and lists the film at 1 hour 37 minutes. The first official photos show Lenore at work in her bakery and with people around her. No theatrical date was announced in the first-look release.
