Wreckfest 2 is a full-contact racing game developed by Bugbear Entertainment and published by THQ Nordic. Its events combine high-speed circuits, stunt-heavy courses, junkyard tracks, oncoming traffic, and demolition arenas where contact is part of the strategy rather than a mistake to avoid. Bugbear rebuilt the physics and damage systems for modern hardware, adding more detailed component damage and heavier crash consequences while preserving the series’ weighty vehicle handling. Players can customize battered cars, tune them for different events, and compete against AI or other drivers. Derby modes and online racing broaden the competition as more systems and content arrive during development. Wreckfest 2 entered PC Early Access on March 20, 2025. The announced PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S editions have no release dates, and the PC version remains in development rather than at 1.0.

The PC build includes playstyle badges, a configurable minimap and Quick Tune sliders. Shared tuning setups can be downloaded from leaderboards, while sharing paint designs uses separate files. Update 8 also revised steering-wheel force feedback and expanded button support; subsequent July patches addressed multiplayer collisions, deformation and paint reliability. These shipped PC features should not be confused with the broader career design described in development previews or with a confirmed console release. Steam lists Windows support and both single-player and online PvP; the console split-screen specifications remain separate.
