Untitled Goose Game hands you one simple role: you are a goose loose in a village. Each area gives you a list of tasks, such as moving an object, making a person react or setting up a small chain of trouble. There is no combat and no complicated story to learn first. You observe where people walk, pick up what your beak can carry, honk at the right moment and see how the villagers respond. The joke works because their routines are predictable enough to plan around, but easy to interrupt.

A good first habit is to watch a person for a few seconds before stealing anything. If you need an object from a guarded spot, make noise somewhere else, wait for the villager to investigate and then slip back. Hiding and dragging objects into a safer space can be more useful than running straight toward the next goal. The game's task list tells you what to achieve, not exactly how to do it, so a failed attempt is a clue about timing or placement. A later update added local two-player cooperation; two people can make distractions together, but the official FAQ says there is no built-in online co-op.
House House made the game and Panic published it first on September 20, 2019 for Nintendo Switch and PC through the Epic Games Store. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions arrived in December 2019, while the Steam release came in 2020. The 2019 year belongs to the original game, not its later Steam launch. The gallery shows the garden, village shops and other everyday places the goose can turn into a puzzle, including a screenshot with both geese from local co-op.
