The Last Campfire follows Ember, a lost soul looking for a way home. Travel through a world of forests, ruins and strange creatures, meeting others who have become stuck along the way. Helping them leads into puzzles, so progress involves noticing how a place works and finding a way to change it.

New abilities give Ember more ways to explore. A flute can affect the surrounding world, while a boat lets you return through areas you could not reach before. The adventure connects those discoveries with individual characters who need help, rather than asking you to build a fighting party or collect stronger weapons.
Normal play includes puzzles that can take thought. Explore Mode is available for players who want to concentrate on the world and its inhabitants with more attention to exploration. That makes it worth considering if you enjoy a fantasy story but would rather keep moving than spend the whole visit working out one challenge.
Hello Games developed and published The Last Campfire, originally released on August 27, 2020. Its Steam edition followed on October 7, 2021. The small characters and warm campsites sit within a story about loss and helping others, so expect sad situations as well as moments of comfort. Choose it for character-centered exploration and an exploration mode alongside the usual puzzle adventure.
