Super Mario 3D World is a platform game that Nintendo first released for Wii U in Japan on November 21, 2013. Pick Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach or Toad and cross short, colorful 3D courses to reach each goal pole. Bowser has taken the Sprixie Princess, so each new area brings moving platforms, enemies, secrets and a new way to reach the exit. You can play alone or share one Wii U with up to three other people.

The Super Bell turns a character into a cat. A cat can run up certain walls and scratch enemies, which changes how you look for hidden places and Green Stars. The Double Cherry makes a copy of your character, and keeping both copies safe can open paths that one character could not manage alone. Clear Pipes, trains and special stages keep the courses changing. Mario is the balanced choice; Luigi jumps higher, Peach can float briefly and Toad runs faster.
This fiche is for the original Wii U game, not the later Nintendo Switch package called Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury. The Wii U version’s four-player mode is local, and the Wii U eShop stopped new purchases in March 2023. In the United States and Canada, the original Wii U release has an ESRB E (Everyone) rating for Mild Cartoon Violence.
