Super Mario 3D Land is a Nintendo 3DS platform game in which Mario sets out to rescue Princess Peach. The courses have depth, so Mario can move toward and away from the screen as well as sideways. Their direct goals and end-of-course flagpoles keep the structure closer to the shorter stages of 2D Mario than a large open-world adventure.

You run, jump over gaps and stomp enemies while judging the distance between platforms. The Tanooki Suit gives Mario a tail attack and lets him float down more slowly, changing how he crosses a gap or approaches an enemy. The gallery shows different course ideas: woodland paths with Koopa Troopas, a haunted interior with a Boo, underwater hazards and a route over clouds. Nintendo's original 400-by-240 screenshots are kept at their native resolution, not recreated as sharper HD images.

Nintendo developed and published the game. Its first release was November 3, 2011 in Japan, followed by November 13 in the United States and November 18 in Europe. The cover is the original Japanese 3DS package from the official contributor studio's portfolio. This is Super Mario 3D Land, not the later Super Mario 3D World. The 3DS shop no longer accepts new digital purchases, so this page does not promise that a new digital copy is available.
