Star Fox is a Nintendo Switch 2 action shooter starring Fox McCloud and his team. They fight Dr. Andross across the Lylat System in a new version of the Star Fox 64 story. The campaign has fully voiced dialogue, an orchestral soundtrack and updated visuals. Players fly the Arwing through missions, choose routes and replay stages for higher scores. One player can pilot while a second aims in the co-op campaign. Battle Mode supports online four-on-four matches.

A free Battle Mode update is listed for September 29, 2026, on Nintendo’s U.S. game page. It adds local four-player split screen on one Switch 2 and lets a group of four on one system join online battles. The update also adds Katina, Sector X and Venom to the existing Corneria, Sector Y and Fichina stages. An internet connection is needed to download the update. Online play requires a Nintendo Switch Online membership and Nintendo Account.
The game released June 25, 2026. Nintendo also offers a free demo with the tutorial and Meteo stage. The U.S. ESRB rates the Switch 2 game E10+ for Fantasy Violence and notes that users can interact online.
