The Third Street Saints have become celebrities in Stilwater, but a criminal group called the Syndicate wants a share of their success. After refusing that demand, the Saints move the fight to Steelport. You control their custom-made leader through a story built around rival gangs, armed confrontations and increasingly extreme situations.

Between missions, Steelport is open for driving, exploring and taking on side activities. The character editor and clothing shops let you change the leader’s appearance; vehicles and weapons give you different ways to handle a fight. The original release included a two-player cooperative campaign. Its adult humor, sexual material and graphic violence are part of the game, even when the colorful costumes make a scene look cartoon-like.
Volition developed Saints Row: The Third and THQ originally published it for Windows PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in November 2011, with the North American launch on November 15. This is the original game, separate from Saints Row: The Third Remastered. Later store publishing credits and later versions do not change the original developer or launch date.
