Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly begins with a young woman waking in an unfamiliar mansion without her memories. Other people are trapped there too, and monsters make it clear that this is not a safe place to stay. The group searches for clues while trying to understand who they are and why they have been brought together.

The main game is a visual novel, with conversations and choices that lead to different parts of the mystery. Romance grows within that larger story of danger and lost memories. A butterfly-shooting minigame adds a separate activity: the characters hunt black butterflies, and playing it helps open extra story sections. Expect plenty of reading around those shorter breaks in the dialogue.
Choose it if you want a romance story whose setting feels strange and threatening from the beginning. The mansion, butterflies and missing memories give you a mystery to follow alongside the characters' relationships. It is less suited to someone who wants everyday dates or a story that stays light.
