Professor Layton and the Curious Village Remake is a new version of the first Professor Layton adventure. Professor Hershel Layton and his apprentice, Luke, travel to the remote village of St. Mystere after the widow of a wealthy baron asks for their help. The baron's will says that whoever finds the hidden Golden Apple will inherit the Reinhold Estate.

LEVEL5 is rebuilding the characters in 3D and describes the exploration as more immersive, with greater depth and richer environmental detail. Story animation will be presented in high resolution and widescreen. The official teaser shows Layton, Luke, several village residents, dimensional exploration and a redesigned puzzle screen. LEVEL5 warns that the footage is from a development build.

The remake is planned for a worldwide release in 2027 on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. LEVEL5 is the developer and publisher. An exact release date, price, editions, physical version, final puzzle count, new or revised puzzles, platform-specific controls, performance targets, PC requirements and complete voice cast remain unannounced.
