Pokémon FireRed Version is a turn-based role-playing game set in the Kanto region. Players choose a first partner from Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle, collect and train Pokémon, challenge eight Gyms, confront Team Rocket, and enter the Pokémon League. The adventure includes the original 151 Pokémon plus abilities, natures, held items, weather, and other systems introduced during the Game Boy Advance era.

FireRed is the 2004 remake of Pokémon Red, paired with Pokémon LeafGreen. The Nintendo Switch re-release launched digitally on February 27, 2026 and is also playable on Nintendo Switch 2. It retains the Sevii Islands and Pokémon Wireless Club, which supports local trades, battles, and chat between compatible systems.
Nintendo says Pokémon HOME support begins in October 2026. The modern version is sold separately by language and keeps the original Game Boy Advance presentation rather than remaking the graphics again.
