NBA 2K24 is a basketball simulation featuring NBA players and teams. At launch, players could create a personal player in MyCAREER, manage a team or league in MyNBA on supported versions, and try other online and offline modes. The game celebrates Kobe Bryant with Mamba Moments, a set of playable moments inspired by his career. Its cover shows Bryant in his Lakers uniform as part of the official Kobe Bryant Edition art.

The way a match feels depends on passing, shooting, dribbling, defending, and understanding when a player has space. NBA 2K24 introduced ProPLAY on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, using real NBA footage to inform some animations. Crossplay was available between those two newer consoles, not automatically between every platform. Modes and technical features differ between current and older console versions, so players should check their own edition before expecting a named mode.
Visual Concepts developed NBA 2K24 and 2K published it worldwide on September 8, 2023 for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Its online services ended on December 31, 2025. MyCAREER, MyTEAM, multiplayer, and virtual-currency features no longer work; people who already own the game can still use offline modes such as Play Now, MyNBA, The W, and MyWNBA, but 2K no longer sells it.
