The August 2026 D23 trailer introduced a world inspired by Disney and Pixar’s Coco. Square Enix’s longer version also shows playable action sections for Donald and Goofy and a separate investigation segment with Mickey Mouse, expanding the confirmed playable lineup beyond Sora.

Square Enix plans to release Kingdom Hearts IV in late 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam and the Epic Games Store. Wishlists are open, but the official pages do not provide an exact release day.

The game retains fast action combat, magic and Keyblade-specific abilities while adding a Build mechanic that changes how Sora can approach battles. The full world list, age rating and launch editions remain unannounced, so this hub separates those open questions from details already confirmed by Square Enix and Disney.
