Iconoclasts is a side-view action adventure about Robin, a young mechanic who helps people even though the law forbids her work. Her repairs draw the attention of the authorities, and the story follows her and the people caught up in that conflict. Dialogue and character scenes are part of the adventure alongside its action.

Robin’s wrench is both a tool and a weapon. It turns bolts, interacts with machines and can protect her from attacks. Her gun has a different job, with upgrades giving it more uses as the game continues. You combine those tools with running and jumping to explore areas and solve mechanical obstacles.

Boss fights test the same equipment used during exploration. Some opponents require finding the right place to shoot or use the wrench rather than simply firing until they fall. The gallery shows a conversation, a fight, machinery and a snowy route, with the game’s colorful pixel art and side-on viewpoint visible throughout.

Joakim Sandberg created Iconoclasts, and Bifrost Entertainment published the original release. It launched on January 23, 2018 for Windows, macOS, Linux, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. Later releases on other consoles are separate from that original launch.

United States rating: ESRB T (Teen), with Violence, Blood, Suggestive Themes, Language and Use of Tobacco. This ESRB listing covers PlayStation 4 and PS Vita; check the local store listing for other platforms or countries.
