Hypnospace Outlaw puts you inside a made-up late-1990s internet instead of a physical game world. You work for Hypnospace Patrol, a service that sends you cases through the computer’s inbox. Your job is to investigate pages and report rule-breaking content, including bullying and copyright violations.

Most of the action happens through the fictional browser and desktop. You read homemade websites, follow links and look for the details a case asks you to find. Personal pages, fan sites and messages slowly show who the people behind this internet are. The challenge is noticing connections, not aiming a gun or winning a race.
The computer is part of the adventure too. You can download apps, change wallpapers and add decorations, while viruses and unwanted software can get in the way. The gallery shows both case tools and colorful personal pages, so you can see how the investigation and the old-computer style fit together. The PC version supports Windows, macOS and Linux.
The credited creators are Tendershoot, Michael Lasch and ThatWhichIs Media, with No More Robots as publisher. The original PC release was March 12, 2019. Later console versions are separate releases; this record keeps the original year rather than replacing it with a console port’s date.
United States rating: ESRB T (Teen), with Blood, Crude Humor, Drug Reference, Mild Language, Mild Violence and Sexual Themes. This cited ESRB entry is for the Nintendo Switch version. It is not a separate rating record for the original PC release; check your platform’s local store for the appropriate classification.
