Heroes of the Storm is Blizzard Entertainment’s free-to-play team brawler. Characters from Warcraft, Diablo, StarCraft and other Blizzard worlds fight across Nexus battlegrounds with different map objectives and team strategies.

The game launched June 2, 2015. Blizzard moved it into a maintenance-focused phase in July 2022, with seasonal rolls and Hero rotations continuing while patches focused primarily on sustainability, bug fixes and balance.

Heroes of the Storm is available on Windows PC and macOS through Battle.net. Xal’atath is scheduled to join the live game on September 28, 2026 as a new Ranged Assassin, with a reported PTR start on September 14. She is the first new Hero announced since Hogger arrived in December 2020. Blizzard has not announced a full relaunch, recurring Hero schedule or broader roadmap.
