Final Fantasy XIV

Final Fantasy XIV is Square Enix’s story-driven massively multiplayer online role-playing game. Players create a Warrior of Light, explore Eorzea and other regions, follow a long main scenario, and switch between combat, crafting, and gathering jobs on the same character. The game supports solo story progression through many duties, automatic group matching, large raids, housing, player-run Free Companies, and a wide collection of optional activities. The Free Trial includes A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, Stormblood, and Shadowbringers, with playable jobs and progression available up to level 80. Trial accounts have social and market restrictions, but they offer a substantial way to learn the combat, story structure, and job system before purchasing the full game. Paid versions use a subscription. The Starter Edition is the lower-cost entry to the full account system, while the Complete Edition includes the current expansion package. Dawntrail is intended for accounts that already own the required base game. A license is needed for every platform family used with the service account. Final Fantasy XIV is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Mac, and Steam. The Nintendo Switch 2 version launches on August 4, 2026, with a Free Trial and several paid editions. Square Enix says Nintendo Switch Online is not required, but existing players still need the Switch 2 software license and the subscription arrangement described for that version.
