Dying Light

During the day, you search buildings and containers for materials, craft useful items and repair or replace weapons. Melee combat has weight, but a noisy fight can draw more infected. The day-and-night cycle changes the risk. After dark, faster and more dangerous enemies come out, so a route that felt manageable at noon may be a poor choice on the way home. Safe zones give you somewhere to shelter and wait. The gallery shows a rooftop jump, an infected encounter, street combat and a night scene; together they show why looking for height and an exit matters more than trying to defeat everything in sight.

The original Dying Light launched in January 2015 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with Linux support also listed on its Steam page. Techland dates the game's anniversary to January 27; some digital storefronts display January 26 because of their release timing. Later editions and the large The Following expansion add content, but this profile is for the original game. The current official Steam cover has a 10th Anniversary badge; that badge marks a later cover design, not a different 2015 release. You can play the main story alone or with online co-op once the game allows it. New players should learn a safe route through one part of Harran before taking a long trip just before sunset.
