DiRT Rally

The game covers gravel, snow, tarmac and other surfaces that change how a car turns and stops. Its events include traditional point-to-point rally, the Pikes Peak hillclimb and World Rallycross races with other cars. The official gallery shows a tarmac stage, a forest road, snow, a start line and a dry, dusty route. Each image is a different driving situation, not just a different car: the grip and visibility change. Between stages, repairs and setup matter because damage can follow you into the next event. Start with a car and location you can repeat, learn when the co-driver calls for a tight corner, and add speed once you can get through without a major crash.

Codemasters released the full PC game on December 7, 2015, following an Early Access period. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One editions followed in 2016; Mac and Linux versions came later. The release date on this page is the 2015 full launch, not the date of every port. DiRT Rally is separate from DiRT Rally 2.0, which arrived years afterward. The original is currently no longer for sale on Steam, although its official listing still provides release information and game screenshots. That matters if you are looking for a copy now: an old store page is not proof that a new purchase is available there.
