Chrono Cross
Serge crosses two versions of the El Nido archipelago, recruiting a large cast and balancing stamina, physical attacks, and Elements while he investigates why another world remembers him as dead.

Serge lives in the seaside village of Arni until a strange event sends him into a parallel world where everyone remembers him as dead. Searching for the reason, he meets Kid, the thief connected to the Radical Dreamers, and crosses El Nido's islands while the Dragon Gods, Lynx, and the Frozen Flame pull the story toward a much larger conflict. The original Square PlayStation RPG launched in Japan in 1999 and in North America in 2000.

Chrono Cross builds its party around choice. More than 40 characters can join, and decisions can change who travels with Serge or which scenes you see. Battles use stamina to determine when commands can be entered, then layer physical attacks with Elements, the game's equipable magic and skills. Managing color elements, status effects, and the order of actions is more important than repeating one attack. The two-world structure also makes revisiting familiar locations part of progression.
Keep separate save files before major decisions, recruit deliberately, and read each character's element affinity before spending rare resources. The 2022 Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition is a remaster with added Radical Dreamers, optional enhancements, and modern platforms; the original two-disc PlayStation release has its own 4:3 presentation, loading rhythm, and balance.
