Batman: Arkham Knight puts you back in Gotham City as Scarecrow threatens the city and a new armored enemy, the Arkham Knight, steps into the conflict. This is the final main chapter of Rocksteady’s Arkham trilogy after Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. You can follow the central story, investigate other criminals through Most Wanted missions or move around Gotham simply to see what is happening. The city is larger than the earlier games, so the map and mission markers help you choose which lead to follow next.

Batman can glide above the streets, grapple to high places and use detective tools to examine a scene. Fights mix strikes and counters against groups of opponents; stealth sections ask you to stay out of sight, watch patrols and use gadgets. The Batmobile is a major new part of this entry: you can drive through Gotham and use it in certain combat and puzzle situations. The gallery shows Batman gliding, a close fight, one of the armored threats and the Batmobile, so someone new to the game can see how different these activities look. Not every encounter should be approached like a fistfight: first identify whether the area is built for combat, stealth or investigation.
Rocksteady Studios developed Batman: Arkham Knight and WB Games published it on June 23, 2015 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This is not the separate Batman: Arkham Origins game, and later complete editions or platform releases do not alter the original date. You can enjoy the basic mission goals without knowing every prior plot point, but returning characters and the trilogy ending carry more meaning if you have played the earlier Rocksteady games.
