Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag puts you in control of Edward Kenway, a pirate captain in the Caribbean around 1715. You steer his ship, the Jackdaw, between islands and ports, then step ashore to climb buildings, sneak past guards and search for treasure. Edward gets drawn into the conflict between Assassins and Templars, but the pirate life is just as important to the game as that bigger story.

At sea, use the map to choose a destination and the wheel to steer. Ship fights ask you to keep an enemy in range, fire your cannons and decide whether to board after weakening its hull. On land, you can hide in crowds, climb to a high point to survey an area and approach an objective from more than one direction. Money and materials from your travels can improve the Jackdaw so you can take on tougher ships.
Black Flag first launched on October 29, 2013, for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U in North America; PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions followed. This fiche is for the original game, not a later remake or a different edition. The original US and Canadian ESRB rating is M (Mature 17+) for Blood, Sexual Themes, Strong Language, Use of Alcohol, and Violence.
